Becky Boesen
Becky intertwines arts and community through the development of special projects, initiatives, and curricula that create lasting local and regional impact. Becky is the author of multiple award-winning plays and is the recipient of an NEA ArtsWorks Award for tackling child hunger with her original musical Puddin’ and the Grumble. Live production with a purpose is her specialty, and she is well known in the midwest as a producer, actor, playwright, director, lyricist, and arts educator. As a consultant, she currently works alongside Nebraska Community Foundation and vibrant rural communities to map and mobilize local creative assets. She also serves as a coach to artists and organizations looking to expand their reach throughout the state and beyond. Becky is the recipient of three Mayor's Arts Awards and has spent time as an artist in residence at Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts and the Midwest Theater. She is a published author and poet, a public speaker, and currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Nebraska Wesleyan University, where she intertwines community building with the process of playwriting. With a natural understanding of how the arts and economic development “fit” Becky was named a "Top 20 under 40" business leader by the Lincoln Journal Star for her work in the arts. She is a member of ASCAP and Dramatists' Guild of America and was recently honored as a Chime Bank 2020 Changemaker for her commitment to advancing goodness.
